On September 18, 2021 at the Nails and Ales for ALS charity event, Don Cummings bent 831 steel Sixty-penny nails individually in succession with only the hands (no external fulcrum or assistance by legs) to the point of less than 2" inside gap between the ends. This was completed in 3 hours 54 minutes 34 seconds. 1 per hand 5" x 10" leather strips were rolled and rubber banded in place for hand pads. Detroit, Michigan, USA.

On August 08, 2020 Don Cummings bent the entire contents of a 50 pound box of steel Sixty-penny nails with only the hands (no external fulcrum or assistance by legs) to the point of less than 2" inside gap between the ends. 1 per hand 5" x 10" leather strips were rolled and rubber banded in place for hand pads. On July 27, 2019 Don Cummings bent 100 pieces of 5/16" x 7" round bar of Cold Rolled Steel with only the hands (no external fulcrum or assistance by legs) to the point of less than 2" inside gap between the ends. 1 per hand 4.25" x 11" leather strips were rolled and rubber banded in place for hand pads. On July 27, 2019 Don Cummings bent 102 pieces of 5/16" x 7" round bar of Cold Rolled Steel with only the hands (no external fulcrum or assistance by legs) to the point of less than 2" inside gap between the ends. 1 per hand 4.25" x 11" leather strips were rolled and rubber banded in place for hand pads. Bending Steel: IronMind Gold Nail: 3/8" x 8-3/8" round bar cold rolled steel: hands with body bracing: 60 pieces in 1 hour 22 minutes 11 seconds. Don Cummings. 


 


On June 2, 2020 Don Cummings bent 60 pieces of 3/8" x 8-3/8” round bar of Cold Rolled Steel with the hands and body bracing to the point of less than 2" inside gap between the ends. 


 


2 per hand 4.25" x 11" leather strips were rolled and rubber banded in place for hand pads for most of the bend and then exchanged for 1 per hand rolled and rubber banded IronMind Pads which were used for the final crush down. Birmingham, Michigan, USA.

Bending Steel: 120D Spike: 3/8" x 12" steel nail: hands only: most bent individually in succession: 375 in 2 hours 57 minutes 32 seconds. Don Cummings. On July 30, 2022 at the Nails and Ales for ALS II charity event, Don Cummings bent 375 steel One-hundred-twenty-penny nails individually in succession by hands and body (braced bending) to the point of less than 2" inside gap between the ends. This was completed in 2 hours 57 minutes 32 seconds. 1 per hand 5" x 10" leather strips were rolled and rubber banded in place for hand pads. A hand towel was taped in place as a leg pad. Bending Steel: St. Croix Ultralite #2 steel horseshoe: hands and body: most bent individually in succession: 176 in 2 hours 29 minutes 57 seconds. Don Cummings.

On July 22, 2023 at the Nails and Ales for ALS IIl : Shoes and Brews charity event in Royal Oak, MI, Don Cummings twisted the heels apart of 176 steel St. Croix Forge #2 Ultralite horseshoes, individually in succession by hands and body (braced bending), to the point of more than 180 degrees from the original shape . This was completed in 2 hours 29 minutes 57 seconds. 1 per hand 4" x 10" leather strips were rolled and rubber banded in place for hand pads. A dish towel was used as a leg pad.
